Present and future of OSELLA. The always winning Italian boats ready for evolution in Carbon!

Turin, 19 September 2023.

The 2023 racing season was also full of successes: Christian Merli dominated the European Mountain Championship and won his fifth title with the Osella FA30 3000 V8. The same model with which Diego Degasperi won the single-seater group of the Italian Mountain Speed Championship.

The Turin boats win in the CIVM the CN Group and the ProtoBike Group respectively with Alberto Scarafone (Osella PA21 2000 CN) and with the young Filippo Golin (Osella PA21 JrB 1000) and finally wins at the debut also the latest born Osella PA21 4C Turbo piloted by Achille Lombardi who is Vice Absolute Champion of the CIVM and winner in the E2SC 2000 class. All this shows that the "ancient" steel frame technology is always a winner, but to go even further it is necessary to adopt more advanced technologies and therefore the choice inevitably falls on composite materials.

This is how this new project was born thanks to the more than thirty-year collaboration that binds Osella to Giuseppe Angiulli who now also takes on a new role: no longer just Technical Director but also responsible for company management and therefore, being able to count on his network of collaborators, the continuity of the prestigious brand is assured. In fact, the new company project also provides for the enhancement of historic cars sector until now little or poorly followed.

A specific and detailed communiqué will be issued shortly.

2024 will therefore be a year to remember for this epochal evolution for Osella that has dominated on the track and uphill for over fifty years. What's more, the new chassis designed to comply with the new FIA regulations, thus ensuring compliance for at least 12 years, will be interchangeable with the current ones and therefore historical customers will be able to update their cars.

This implies that the substantial Osella PA21, PA30, FA30 and JrB fleet can all be converted with the new Carbon frame. This operation will allow those who have made investments in recent years to have a new and more competitive car with less expense. We are working hard to have the prototype of the chassis in April 2024 and the start of production in May 2024. Obviously this new chassis will be the basis for the new Osella PA31, which will be born with deeply revised suspension and aerodynamics while maintaining the approach of making the various steps of evolution as interchangeable as possible.

The date of presentation of the new car is not yet defined as it is awaiting the final drafting of the technical regulations by the FIA. In the coming months, instructions and costs will be prepared for the various models in order to draw up a calendar with customers when organizing future sports programs.
